Individual Biographies
Donald Lindsay, Piper Donald Lindsay is well known
around Glasgow as a musical adventurer. His pipes have
sounded the strains of a mindboggling variety of music
from bhangra to bassa beat. Along the way, he's
performed and/or recorded with “Nachaar”, “MacUmba”, “Soss”,
“Clan Wallace”, percussionist Dave Boyd, The “Glasgow
Improviser's Orchestra” and “Appendix Out” to name a
few. He is currently a member of Jerry Boweh's re-formed
“Zuba Bassa Beat” as well as Scots-Bhangra group “P.H.D.”,
and “The Supersized Bananas” experimental laptop duo.
Calum MacCrimmon, Calum's piping began in
Edmonton, Canada. He and his family moved to Scotland in
1991, where he made a name in solo competitions. In 2000
Calum attended the RSAMD in Glasgow, excelling in
piping, whistle, guitar and composition. With a BA Hons
in Scottish Music, Calum is currently pursuing a career
as a tutor and performer across Scotland. He performs
with “Na Tri Seudan”, “The National Youth Pipe Band of
Scotland”, his own group “Breabach”, and produced a “New
Voices” commission for Celtic Connections 2007.
Jondi Mac, Manila born Jondi has lived all over
the planet - Hong Kong, San Francisco, Glasgow and
London (and everywhere in between).... and this led to
him playing all kinds of music. He specializes in pop,
rock, prog and a.o.r. as well as funk, Rn'B and blues
and is constantly expanding his horizons to other
genres. In addition to being a double threat on
keyboards and vocals on stage, Jondi is also an
established producer and writes original songs and
composes soundtracks. He can play other instruments such
as drums, guitar, bass and Chapman stick. To date, he
has backed many artists including Mick Taylor (Rolling
Stones), Darius Rucker (Hootee and the Blowfish), Vinx
(Sting), Jimmy Witherspoon and Terry Reid.
Dave Dominey, Liverpudlian Dave has been playing
the bass professionally for over 10 years. He attended
Sandown music college in Liverpool, afterwards touring
Europe extensively with Jimmy Carl Black and “The Muffin
Men”, before moving north to Glasgow. Since arriving in
the city, he's gigged and recorded with numerous Glasgow
bands, including celtic-asian-jazz combo “Soss” & jazz
group “Pushed for Time”. He is currently a member of
Jerry Boweh's “Zuba Bassa Beat”, and “The Supersized
Bananas” laptop duo.
Colin McGibbon, Colin has been a professional
drummer for 8 years. He studied the applied music course
at Strathclyde University, and currently teaches drums
and percussion in various schools in West Renfrewshire
and Glasgow. He plays all styles of music from rock and
jazz, to theatre and show work. Recent projects include
original rock band “Elmo”, of which Colin has been a
long time member, and Jazz group “Pushed for Time”.
